Stanley Park Bandstand last week in the gorgeous sunshine. They have different bands and choirs playing music and singing every Sunday in the bandstand throughout the Summer, it's a free event- you just have to sit there and enjoy the music and the sunshine!


 

 
 






COMEDY CARPET OPENS AMONG COMEDY SUPER STARS.

This week saw the much eagerly awaited grand opening of Blackpool's very own COMEDY CARPET. Lovingly constructed outside of the Tower, it features sayings and well known phrases from our much loved British Comedy Heroes. KEN DODD was the main guest of honour along with other comedy celebrities like THE KRANKIES, DAVE SPIKEY, THE CHUCKLE BROTHERS etc. A well publicised opening ceremony was broadcast on news channels to make everyone aware of this new must see feature. "They talk about the Hollywood Walk of Fame- but no-one has one of these" was KEN DODD'S verdict.

Yes I'm back!! Thanks to the lovely Fasthosts my technical problem is sorted.

I know it's looked out of sorts for a while but now we're cooking on gas!! A little bit of knowledge is a very good thing and I wish I had known that JLS were at Blackpool Pleasure Beach last Saturday as I might of nipped down and shown my face!!
 BLACKPOOL PLEASURE BEACH opened it's spectacular NICKELODEON LAND with the likes of DORA THE EXPLORER, SPONGEBOB SQUARE PANTS, PATRICK DIEGO, THE BACKYARDIGANS to name but a few. Check out the BPB website for further details especially for their 12 Days of Christmas special in December right up to Christmas.



Louis Tussauds has been taken over by his famous cousin MADAME TUSSAUDS and has been a massive sucess since it's opening on April  2011. It's already looking amazing and I for one can't wait to get in there and have a good look round at all her new stars!!

BLACKPOOL TOWER has also been going through a massive change. The MERLIN GROUP have also taken it over and are installing some fabulous new features such as the TOWER DUNGEON and the TERROR TOWER RIDE, again check their website for more info on all of these great new places.

The GOLDEN MILE will be opening it's doors to it's brand new WEDDING CHAPEL any time soon as it nears completion. Blackpool will boast it's own chapel of love in front of the TOWER.


2011 so far has been an exciting time for Blackpool, with people predicting massive success for the region with millions of holiday guests flocking to the area to take advantage of all the new attractions along with all the old favourites.
Watch this space, it's been a great year and we've not finished the illuminations yet!!
